In order to apply for a pistol permit you must:
- Present a current, valid hunting, fishing, or furtaking license; or present a permit relating to the use of hunting-dogs
- Present an additional and valid form of personal identification
- Be 18 years of age or older
The fee for a pistol permit is $6.00, which must be paid to the County Treasurer's Office. This permit is valid for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase. A pistol permit will not be issued through the mail, and must be purchased in person.
Please note that even though the common refernce to this permit is "Pistol Permit", the title of the application form reads "Pennsylvania Sportsman's Firearm Permit".
