Chester County Sheriff’s D.A.R.E. Officers
{sauers} Deputy Gayle Sauers Deputy Gayle Sauers was a criminal Investigator/DARE Officer for Kennett Square Police Department in 1989, and was recruited by the Chester County Sheriff’s office in 1991 to begin the first FULL-TIME Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program in Chester County. She is responsible for the coordination of the DARE grant each year with the Chester County Intermediate Unit, that provides funding for DARE programs for 98% of the law enforcement agencies participating in DARE in Chester County. She had the first DARE graduation of a public school in Chester County, having received her DARE certification directly from Los Angeles Police Department, who founded the program in 1983. Deputy Sauers holds dual certification as a Deputy Sheriff and a Police Officer in Pennsylvania. Her husband, John, is a Corporal with the State Police. Together they have raised three children. She is also the grandmother of two.

Corporal Joseph Kusnersyk Corporal Kusnersyk, (A.K.A. “Kuz”) is a retired member of the United States Navy, Seal Team One. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from West Chester University and served as a patrolman in Thornbury Township, Chester County as well as a Sergeant in West Fallowfield Township, Chester County.

Deputy Jeff DiVito Deputy DiVito joined the Chester County Sheriff’s Office in 2001 and has worked in both the Criminal and Civil Divisions. He also works in the Gun Permits Office whenever needed. Deputy DiVito has used his talents to design the graphics for the DARE P.T. Cruiser.

Deputy Anthony Schuibbeo Dep Schuibbeo joined the Chester County Sheriff’s Office in 2002. He is a Defensive Tactics Instructor, Impact Weapons Instructor, as well as a Weapon Retention and Weapon Take Away Instructor.
He also participates in the Sheriff's Office Easter Bunny Program as the Easter Bunny mascot who rides along with a uniformed deputy to visit children in the Chester County Hospital on Easter Day. Deputy Schuibbeo became certified as a DARE instructor in October 2005. In the past year he has worked along with WCOJ radio station in an effort to promote the DARE program. Deputy Schuibbeo currently is working on his Emergency Management and Planning Degree At Delaware Co. Community College. When he is not working he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
