Annual Mental Retardation Plan
Each year Chester County MH/MR prepares a Mental Retardation Plan and Budget Request for the PA Department of Public to use in preparing a State budget request for the next year. The PA Office of Developmental Programs provides statewide guidelines for consistent County Plans to support budget requests to the Governor. The 2007-2008 Plan and Budget Request must address the following four (4) priority areas:
- services to persons with Emergency Needs
- services to persons with Critical Needs
- services to persons aging out of eligibility for Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT)
- services to support persons graduating from high school
The 2007-08 guidelines allow counties to include the administrative costs associated with providing services to additional people. These include costs for more Supports Coordination, County administration, and provider infrastructure support. The 2007-08 Plan also describes efforts to promote employment, Lifesharing, and the principles of Self Determination and Everyday Lives; and the Children’s Integrated Planning activities in the county.
