Getting Early Intervention Services
The process begins with a referral phone call to the Early Intervention Service Coordination Unit. In that call, the caller will be asked for specific information about the child (name, address, phone number, date of birth) and the developmental concerns or reason for referral. The child and family will be assigned a Service Coordinator who will schedule an initial home visit (intake meeting) to gather information regarding the child and the concerns, and to inform the family of the Early Intervention process and their rights within the process. The Service Coordinator and family will discuss who best to assess the child, and a developmental evaluation will be scheduled.
