U.S. Marine Corps LogoEdwin G. Satz was born on October 10th, 1910.  His parents were Mr. George W. Satz and Mrs. Conover.  They lived in Hayti, Coatesville.  He had three stepbrothers.  Walter, Calvin, and Russell Conover.

He entered into the service December 14th, 1941.  His training was done at Ft. Benning and he was shipped right over with no furlough.  He was a private first class marine, and was located in the Philippines

His three stepbrothers also served in the war.  Walter was a first class marine and   Calvin was Chief Laundryman for the US Navy.  Both were serving in the South Pacific.  Russell entered the Navy in December of 1945.

Edwin died on December 5, 1944 of wounds while fighting in Leyte.  He was buried Plot A, Row 14, Grave 152 at the Manila American Cemetery in Manila Philippines.  He was awarded a purple heart for his bravery.
