Michael became the head of the stables at the Glen Clovis Farm in Sugartown. Michael entered service in the Army Air Corps in November 1940. He was sent to Gulfport Air Field in Mississippi for training. Private First Class Michael Mahler Died Non Battle on April 10, 1943, when struck by a truck near the base. Funeral services and High Requiem Mass was held at 6641 Lansdowne Ave in Philadelphia on Thursday April 15th. Interment was at the St. Denis Cemetery in Ardmore. Michael’s parents were deceased, but he was survived by his wife, the former Beatrice King, and a brother John J. of the Army Air Forces, then serving in Miami, Florida, and three sisters.
