Louis Fulda Guillermin was born on January 6, 1943 to Mr. and Mrs. Wister P. Guillermin who lived at 137 Howard Road in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Louis attended the West Chester Joint Senior High School graduating in 1960. The high school was located at Lincoln and Montgomery Avenues, which opened in 1951 and later renamed Henderson in 1963. Louis was in the school’s marching band from10th -12^th grade and on the Golf team from 11th –12th grade.  The High School yearbook says of him:

“Lou”…plays a terrific trumpet…drives a cool red ’49 Chevy…interested in electronics…enjoys hunting and fishing…”Oh, no!

After graduation from high school, Louis attended Penn State obtaining an associate degree in Engineering.

Louis joined the Air Force as an Aviation Cadet. He received his pilots training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Louis received further training in radar and celestial navigation instruction at Connally Air Force Base in Texas. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and awarded his silver wings in April 1964.

Louis rose through the ranks to major.  He was sent to Vietnam for a tour of duty arriving April 30, 1968.  He flew counter insurgency missions in an A-26A aircraft, converted from a World War II B-26 Invader – a fast twin-engine bomber.

On April 28, 1968, Major Louis Fulda Guillermin was Missing In Action on a mission over Savannakhet Province, Laos.  His last known position was about 10 miles east of the city of Ban Muong Sen.

His body was never recovered.
