The Department of Health announced it will conduct statewide clinics from November 20–22 to administer free H1N1 vaccine to individuals in the recommended target groups that have not had previous access to the vaccine. Forum on Cancer in Appalachian Pennsylvania December 11, 2009, 9:00am-3:30pm State College, Pennsylvania Community-based organizations, health professionals and individuals are invited to participate in discussions to increase future collaborative efforts between Pennsylvania communities and statewide cancer prevention and control organizations and resources. There is no registration charge for the forum and lunch is provided.

Pennsylvania Community on Transition Conference: Empowerment in Action: A Unified Approach Proposal Submission Deadline: December 15, 2009 The primary purpose of this conference is to expand the capacity of schools and community partners to promote the successful transition of youth/young adults with disabilities to the post-school outcomes of: Employment; Post-Secondary Education and Training; and, Healthy Lifestyles, Community Participation and Independent Living.

Projects to Deliver Peer-to-Peer Recovery Support Services Deadline: February 10, 2010 The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) announces the availability of FY 2010 funds for grants to deliver peer-to-peer recovery support services that help prevent relapse and promote sustained recovery from alcohol and drug use disorders.
The Health Clinic Opportunity Fund (Round 2) Deadline: March 1, 2010 This is a two-year, national grant program developed in direct response to the rapid increase in the number of people losing their jobs and health insurance as a result of the economic crisis. Grants ranging from $75,000 to $150,000 per year for a maximum of two years will be provided to build the operational capacity of charitable health clinics, public-health clinics, and those designated as federally qualified health center look-alikes.
Mantis - 2010 Mantis Awards for Community and Youth Gardens Deadline: March 1, 2010 The purpose of this funding opportunity is to turn slim resources into bountiful gardens that increase access to nutritious foods and provide education on the importance of nutrition.
