Chester County Municipal Solid Waste Plan Revision

The Chester County Board of Commissioners has compiled a revision to the Chester County Municipal Solid Waste Plan originally adopted in 1990 and revised in March, 2007. The 90-day public review process which is required prior to the Plan’s adoption ended on November 13, 2009. There were no public comments received during that period or at the public hearing that was held September 28, 2009..

The proposed revision ensures that disposal capacity is available for waste generated within Chester County for the ten year planning period 2010 to 2019. The revision continues to include Lanchester and SECCRA Landfills as the Primary Disposal Facilities for Chester County generated wastes, and adds an additional seven By-Pass Disposal facilities to the twelve By-Pass Disposal sites already named in the March, 2007 revision. The revision also includes a Designated Site Ordinance which replaces the County’s existing Flow Control Ordinance. This revision does not include any changes to the County’s recycling programs or goals.

The Plan Revision will be presented to the County Commissioners for their final approval in December, 2009. Click here to review the Chester County Municipal Solid Waste Plan Revision
