General
Judge Hall's secretary schedules requests for oral arguments, administrative conferences and settlement conferences. Civil trials are scheduled via Court Administration. At any time prior to a civil trial listing, counsel may request a pre-trial conference or a settlement conference by contacting the Judge's secretary. All conferences regarding criminal matters are scheduled by Judge Hall's secretary. Court Administration schedules all criminal trials. Any questions concerning trial listings should be directed to the Court Administrator's Office at 610-344-6121.
Oral Arguments
Note that requests for Oral Arguments are first reviewed by the Pre-Trial unit and then scheduled by Judge Hall's secretary. Counsel will be given notice from the Judge’s Chambers as to the date and time of the Oral Argument. All motions must include a Praecipe for Determination.
Preliminary Injunctions
Scheduled on a case by case basis. Petitions for Preliminary Injunction shall first be filed with the Prothonotary and a Judge will be assigned (on a rotation); you then go to the assigned Judge for a TRO and/or hearing date. If the assigned Judge is not available due to vacation, etc., counsel may go to the Miscellaneous Judge for TRO; a hearing will be scheduled by the Miscellaneous Judge (to be heard by the assigned Judge).
Bail Hearings
Contact Court Administration for scheduling of bail hearings; Court Administration will then coordinate with Judge Hall's secretary for a mutually convenient date for a hearing within 5 days of request.
Guilty Pleas
Scheduled any time. Call Judge's Chambers for a special listing.
Violations of Probation
In most cases, violation hearings involving prisoners are done by video link to the prison. Call Judge's Chambers directly if you feel special circumstances apply.
