COURTS
The Court of Common Pleas of Chester County is a general jurisdiction trial court located in West Chester, Pennsylvania. There are eleven full time judges and one senior judge. The judges hear a wide spectrum of cases, including adult and juvenile criminal prosecutions, lawsuits involving money or property, divorce, custody disputes, child support issues, adoptions, and estates. In addition to court staff and court administration, the court supervises Adult Probation, Juvenile Probation, Domestic Relations, Bail Agency, Court Reporters, and the Law Library. The Court oversees and provides administrative services to the seventeen district justice offices that comprise the District Justice system in Chester County.

Meet Judge Sarcione

{Judge Anthony Sarcione} Judge Sarcione is married to Janet M. Sarcione and has three children.   He graduated from the University of Scranton in 1975 with a B.S. in political science. Judge Sarcione subsequently attended the Widener University School of Law graduating in 1978 with his J.D. degree.

Judge Sarcione held various positions in the Chester County District Attorney's Office from 1978 to 1989. In 1989 he was asked by the Attorney General of Pennsylvania to assume the duties of Director of Criminal Law for the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General.  He served the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from 1989 to 1992 until Judge Sarcione returned to Chester County in 1993 after being appointed District Attorney of Chester County by the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas.

Judge Sarcione was elected to the office of District Attorney of Chester County in 1995 and again in 1999. Judge Sarcione served on the Executive Committee of the Pennsylvania District Attorney's Association. As District Attorney he was recognized by many organizations that serve the citizens of Chester County for his service to the community. He was elected to the Court of Common Pleas of Chester County in November of 2001. Judge Sarcione assumed his duties as a Judge on January 7, 2002.

Judge Sarcione has lectured at various elementary and high schools, at the Pennsylvania State Trial Judges Conference, to newly elected District Attorneys and was an adjunct professor at the Widener School of Law teaching a course in Trial Techniques.
