Letter From the Controller
{Val DiGiorgio}
Dear Chester County Citizens:
On behalf of the hardworking and professional staff at the Chester County Controller’s Office, I am pleased to provide this website to you. This webpage is designed to give you some information about the duties of the Controller's Office and about county finances. I hope you find it helpful and informative.
As your elected County Controller, I understand that County government has no funds of its own; rather, county government resources come from and belong to our hardworking taxpayers. With this principle in mind, the staff at the Controller's Office and I are dedicated to ensuring the proper spending and administration of county funds.
As Controller, I am responsible for such important tasks as auditing county departments and agencies, reviewing and approving the county's bills, preparing our annual financial report and overseeing county employees' pension fund as a member of the county Retirement Board. In performing these functions, I will not waiver from our mission of ensuring that county taxpayers' funds are prudently, lawfully and efficiently spent and that county government is open, honest and efficient.
I am humbled by the trust the citizens of Chester County have placed in me by electing me as County Controller, and I will work tirelessly to live up to your trust.
Thank you.
Val DiGiorgio
