About the Controller
{Val DiGiorgio}
Valentino DiGiorgio, III
Val DiGiorgio was sworn in as Chester County's Controller in January of 2005. As Controller, Val is responsible for maintaining for Chester County proper accounting records and processes, paying county bills, managing payroll and retirement benefits on behalf of county employees, performing internal audits for county departments, and preparing the county's annual comprehensive annual financial report. He also serves a member of the Chester County Prison Board, Salary Board and Retirement Board.
Val is an attorney with experience in banking, real estate and municipal finance. He also has a long record of public service, having worked as an auditor for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, as an attorney in the Governor Ridge Administration and as Chief of Staff in the Senate of Pennsylvania. He has also served on numerous governmental and non-profit boards including the Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation, to which he was appointed by President George W. Bush in 2005, the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry and the Uwchlan Township Zoning Hearing Board.
