Chester County Airport is designated as a Class C-II Reliever Airport and serves Chester County and neighboring counties with corporate air travel services, private aircraft facilities and training.
The Authority was established in 1959 under the auspices of the County and consists of seven board members appointed by the Commissioners. The business of the Authority is to manage and administer the operation of the Airport and its 340 acres of property. The Airport has developed a 12-year plan of capital improvements which are focused on improved safety. The plan features develpment south of the current runway beginning with construction of the south apron. Additional corporate hangar space and a new 6100-foot runway will allow full jet service capabilities.

The 5400' x 100' runway (29/11) is equipped to handle most corporate business aircraft 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Runway 29 features ILS, GPS, and PAPI approach guidance. The airport is home to approximately 118 aircraft, including 20 corporate jets, 82 single-engine and 16 muli-engine aircraft, as well as several helicopters.

Terminal improvements and a fuel farm expansion have strenthened the airport's position in the
Delaware Valley Regional Aviation System. An integral part of the 2020 Airport System Plan for Southeastern Pennsylvania, the Chester County Airport is keeping pace with the growing demands of the County and corporate aviation in general.
