Setting the Stage:
The 1860 election of Abraham Lincoln has inflamed the southern states. The nation is divided on states’ rights and slavery in the territories. Ironmaster Charles Brookes has fallen ill and is in the process of turning over Hibernia Iron Works to his three sons, one of whom is eager to join the military. Citizens and military personnel have gathered to discuss the situation.
