There are two types of Paratransit services; the Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP) and the Aging Shared Ride Program. Each program has it’s own specific guidelines and requirements.

You must have Medical Assistance to access the Medical Assistance Transportation Program. MATP can be used to get to and from any  health care or treatment provider that is covered by Medical Assistance. You can also use MATP to go to the pharmacy closest to your home to pick up prescriptions or to get medical equipment as long as Medical Assistance pays for these services.

Consumers interested in registering for Paratransit can call Rover Community Transportation toll free at 1-877-873-8415. You must call Rover Community Transportation at least 24 hours in advance to schedule transportation. Rover Community Transportation office hours are Monday thru Friday, 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM.

If you have Medical Assistance and live near public transportation, you may be eligible for reimbursement of your public transit fares through MATP. You may also be reimbursed for mileage if you are using a personal vehicle to get to and from your medical appointments. You should contact Rover Community Transportation toll free at 1-877-873-8415 to get more information about mileage reimbursements.

If you are age 65 or older, you may be eligible to ride Paratransit through the Aging Shared Ride Program for a small fee. Transportation through the Aging Shared Ride Program is available from 7:00 AM until 5:30 PM., Monday through Friday. This is a shared-ride program funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery, which provides transportation at a reduced fare.

Rainbow Cab provides shared-ride, reduced fare cab service to persons age 65 and older. This service is limited and not available in all areas of Chester County.  For service area information, registration, and general information, please contact Rainbow Cab at 610-696-6060.
