What's new with the Agricultural Land Preservation Board (ALPB)
  • The Chester County ALPB has partnered with landowners, municipalities, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Farmland Preservation Program, and the U.S. Farm and Ranch Protection Program to permanently preserve 29,019 acres comprised of 336 farms.
  • Applications to sell agricultural conservation easements through either the Challenge Grant Program or Commonwealth Farmland Preservation Program must be submitted to the County’s Department of Open Space Preservation (DOSP) by December 1, 2011. Applications are available on this web site under the left navigation bar titled “Printable Forms and Other Information”. Personal assistance is available by calling Diana Hoopes, the DOSP’s Farmland Preservation Coordinator; or Kim Gordon, the Farmland Preservation Assistant. Applicants who own high quality farmland and offer to sell their development rights at the greatest discount will receive priority consideration.
